Again just a few live drawing thingies. Tried to draw as quickly as possible, so I could concentrate on the proportions and shapes. No shadows this time.
This time I tried to really incorporate the methods of animation 'drawing'. That means no more shaping from outside in. But rather building your drawings from the bones. I also wanted to push the tempo. So compared to the other ones, these are less interesting too see, but I learn so much more.
These are a couple of backgrounds I and Remco did for a certain project. These backgrounds aren't ready yet, but you can get a good feel for the goals we're setting. I still have (campanile) a lot to learn about color use and lighting. But I hope I'm making some progress.
Yes, another update today. I'm rather productive, haha. This time I made a Nepalese temple. I didn't really use reference for this one, so don't look to closely. I probably made numerous cultural mistakes.
This piece was made without my usual 'sketchy line-art'. Hope you dig.
I thought of a story within the Star Wars universe, and thought it kinda funny to make some accompanying concepts. So here you go. I hope you see the concept in the correct colors.
Have to say, I think her proportions aren't great. Her head and upperbody seem to big for the rest....maybe I'll fix that.
As someone pointed out today, my drawings aren't really really life drawings. Because I'm using pictures instead of models. The problem is, using real models costs a lot of money, using photo's just 10 euros a month (internet).
I know there isn't any real logic anymore in my blog posts...hope you all don't really mind too much. Here I found a short documentary on James Cameron and a little treat (I thought it was anyway).
After reading the first few chapters of Richard Williams' Animator's survival Kit I concluded I have to draw a whole lot more often. And Richard wrote: a good way to start is life drawing. So here are my first 4 life drawings.
